Dubai Weather in May

Daytime temperatures rise significantly during May. The average daytime maximum is 37.8°C (100°F), but don’t be surprised if temperatures reach as high as 43.5°C (110°F) by the end of the month. Overnight lows average 25.2°C (77°F).

Humidity in Dubai is at its lowest in May, so it is drier than usual, and rainfall is unlikely, though not unheard of. However, dust storms are common at this time of year, impacting visibility and air quality.

Sea temperatures are not quite at their summer peaks, but they do warm significantly in May, making it ideal for beachgoers to enjoy a dip in the azure waters of the Persian Gulf. You can expect water temperatures ranging from 26.3°C (79.3°F) to 31.2°C (86.2°F) by month-end.

Dubai Special Events May 2026

Gone are the days when May was considered a quiet month in Dubai, when nothing much happens – quite the opposite. The May calendar is usually filled with an exciting line-up of events, though we do expect this will be significantly toned down in 2026 .

With Eid Al-Adha set to fall from May 26th until May 29th (subject to moon sighting and government-approved public holidays), visitors this May are in for an extra treat, with special celebrations and performances across the city.

Towards the end of the month, with rising temperatures, many al fresco dining options and outdoor activities are forced indoors by the heat. We are sharing with you the events that are currently still scheduled to occur in May this eyar,

Dubai With Kids in May 2026

Dubai is a city burgeoning with family-friendly activities year-round.

May is a popular time to visit Dubai with your family, as schools in Europe take a short half-term break towards the end of the month. Schools locally often take a short break at this time, too (with Eid Al Adha occurring in the last week of May this year, expect it to be a busy time!

As May is getting quite hot to be outdoors unless you’re in the water, why not try these ideas:

Dubai Weather in April

There can be a rapid increase in daytime maximum temperatures from late March to late April. At the start of the month, Dubai normally experiences daytime highs around 30°C/86°F and by the end of April, 35°C/95°F with an average of 33.3°C/92°F.

Be prepared for a few scorching hot days, too. There is only a low probability of rain and a possibility of sandstorms and dusty days.

The sea temperature takes a little longer to reach summertime peaks. You can expect a mild average of 25°C/77°F in the water in April – but reaching 28°C/72°F by month-end – most find this perfect for swimming!

The UV Index in Dubai in April is 8, and you get, on average, 11 hours of sunshine. Take care out in the sun, and remember to pack plenty of sunscreen, along with a hat, sunglasses, and a water bottle wherever you go during the day to beat the heat.

• The Christian celebration of Easter will fall on Sunday, 5 April 2026, and Orthodox Easter will be celebrated on the 12th of April 2026, meaning that events are likely to be spread across a two-week period.

• We await news if the family-favorite outdoor event, Dubai Global Village, can reopen for a short stint before the summer, as gates have sadly been closed since the start of the conflict. All advertised reopenings so far have not been able to go ahead.

Returning for its second season this Ramadan, the Ramadan District at the Plaza Terrace aims to blend cultural heritage with contemporary entertainment. Expect community activities, including board games, arts and crafts, cooking classes, and stage performances. You’ll also find henna and calligraphy artists.

You will find everything here, from big-name luxury goods brands to small local businesses, set in the backdrop of The Museum of the Future.

You are adjacent to the Ramadan Majilis at Jumeirah Etihad Towers, which hosts nightly iftar and suhoor.

Dubai Municipality Ramadan Souq in Bur Deira

This is a good one to attend in the run-up to Ramadan, noting that it’s actually scheduled to stop before the Holy Month starts.

Many locally will be making their Ramadan preparations by heading to this outdoor souq held on Old Municipality Street in Bur Deira. This souq will offer shoppers a unique range of products, including kitchen essentials, fabrics, and traditional food items.

Visitors can also enjoy entertainment and family-friendly activities. This is a great spot for visitors to Dubai during March to understand more about the culture and community surrounding Ramadan, as well as supporting the city’s traditional market traders.

Ramadan Street Food Festival

19th February – Eid 2026

The Sheikh Hamdan Colony will be transformed this Ramadan with colourful decorations and more than 130 vendor kiosks serving all manner of south Asian street foods from February 19th to February 28th.

From the 28th February the focus will shift to entertainment and live activations until Eid.

Hai Ramadan at Expo City

February 22nd until March 17th 2026; 5:00 pm to midnight

The market held in Al Wasl Plaza will host a mix of culture, tradition, and family-friendly activities with food outlets, handmade crafts, traditional garments, and Ramadan-themed items.

There are various iftar offerings at Hai Ramadan this year including a refined seated experience at ‘Iftar Al Majlis’ and a street-food iftar package at ‘Iftar Al Souk’.

Guests can also enjoy seeing the Al Wasl dome come alive with light projections that tell stories rooted in Ramadan tradition.

This will also be one of seven locations in Dubai where you can see the Iftar cannon fired.

Before You Head to a Dubai Ramadan Market

It is important to remember that Ramadan is a time for spiritual reflection and togetherness. While these Dubai Ramadan events are by no means limited to the Muslim community, please be mindful that you are attending a religious occasion in an Islamic country.

Whilst Dubai may come across as ‘business as usual’ these days during the Holy Month, please be mindful when attending a Ramadan event where you are; dress appropriately for the occasion and refrain from eating and drinking around those fasting until after sunset.

Dubai Average Weather in January

Dubai’s average daytime maximum temperature in January is 24.2°C (76°F), with highs as much as 31.8°C (89°F) and overnight lows averaging 14.6°C (58°C).

In January, you should expect sea temperatures of 23.9°C (75°C) on average. Maximum sea temperatures are expected at 25.9°C (77°F) through to a minimum of 22°C (73°F).

Both rain and fog can commonly occur in January. There is little you can do to prepare for these natural occurrences, but if it rains, seek cover fast, as it can pour hard and fast but tends to clear quickly.

Fog tends to form overnight and burns off during the morning – do factor this in if you are planning an early morning Burj Khalifa visit – you may be looking out on a blanket of white, or with brilliant views of the skyscrapers poking through the clouds!

Dubai Weather in December

If it’s the scorching heat of the summer months that has ever put you off visiting Dubai, get set for the wonderfully mild days of December and the winter months in Dubai. 

December’s average temperature is around 26°C/78.8°F, and the average sea temperature is around the same, 25.6°C/78°F. By month’s end, it can even be a little too nippy for ocean swimming—ensure your resort or hotel has a temperature-controlled pool!

The minimum temperature you can expect overnight in Dubai in December is 15°C/59°F. You won’t need much more in the city than a light jacket. Though note, if you are heading to the desert or the mountains overnight on a camping or glamping trip, it could be several degrees cooler; you’ll want a warmer layer of clothing.

With an average of 8 hours of sunshine, you should expect mostly blue skies, though rain and fog are not unheard of in the winter season. Use the cooler weather to get out there and enjoy the natural wonders that surround Dubai.

Suggested Dubai Activities in December 2026

Given the mild sunny days, it’s a perfect time of year to do some of Dubai’s more physical outdoor activities. Our top picks for things to do in Dubai in December are:

• Take on the Ras al Khaimah zipline course – Jebel Jais Flight! Not only the longest zipline in the world, where speeds can reach up to 160kms an hour, but also Jebel Jais Tour – seven different zipline courses that meet on a suspended platform in the Hajar Mountains.

• Take a tour around the world at Dubai’s Global Village – an international fair-style event held nightly; you’ll find seasonal celebrations, including Union Day and Christmas, marked with stage shows and fireworks.

• This is the perfect time of year to experience Dubai Garden Glow & Dinosaur Park in Zabeel Park. An evening wonderland, the festive season makes it all the more magical.

• Take a tour of the UAE’s east coast. Cross the spectacular Hajar Mountains and experience the calm, warm waters of the Gulf of Oman. There are snorkelling opportunities, as well as boat tours that can take you in amongst the spectacular khors of Musandam, Oman, without needing to cross the land border. Check out this east coast Fujairah day trip, or you can hire your own car and set your own pace.

• For something unique this December, head to the Sharjah exclave of Kalba on the east coast for the weekend of 14-15 December for the inaugural Adventure Festival on 14-15 December for 2 days to partake in a huge range of outdoor and nature-filled adventures. There will be chances to learn about local handicrafts and try local foods, as well as enjoy the festive ambience. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of performances, including ‘from the desert to the stars’, between the 1st and 3rd December.

On the 1st and 2nd December, there will be a UAE-themed drone show and fireworks to really celebrate the occasion!

Dubai Average Weather in November

Temperatures drop significantly over November from highs of 38°C/100°F at the start of the month down to the high 20s/low 80s by month-end. Overnight lows are around 20°C/68°F, and morning fog can be a common occurrence as the humidity starts to fall, leading to some spectacular cityscape views.

The sea temperature averages 28.4°C/83°F, so it is still pleasant to take a refreshing dip in the water. It is also perfect for sun worshippers without getting too hot and sweaty.

As the weather is starting to cool, it’s a great time to check out the return of some amazing seasonal events and enjoy the great outdoors.

• Dubai Global Village will be reopened for Season 30 and will run through until early May 2026. An incredible world showcase of food, shopping, and entertainment (like a mini Expo 2020 every year!) – and with an entry fee of only 30 AED, it’s one of the bargain night spots in Dubai.

• Explore the city from the water. Many services offer tours from several locations, including the Dubai Canal, Dubai Creek, and Dubai Marina. Our top pick is to hire a small group boat and choose your own itinerary, BYO your snacks, and let your captain whisk you around Dubai’s top sites!

• Take on the UAE’s tallest peak Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah and enjoy a huge variety of outdoor adrenaline activities from the world’s longest zipline to the Jais Sky Maze perched atop the mountain.

With the Kids in Dubai in November 2026

• Your younger tots will absolutely adore the outdoor playground set up at Al Barari, a pirate ship, and waterplay is the centrepiece of this hidden urban oasis, perfect for the cooler months in Dubai.

• The nighttime extravaganza Dubai Garden Glow is back for its 11th season. A beautiful evening light display; get there early to also experience the Dinosaur park as day turns to night, then watch the light show come alive.

• Get kids active outside at Aventura Parks. A ropes and zipline course will see them confidently flying through the treetops of the Ghaf forest in Mushrif Park.

• Dubai Safari Park – A nature experience not far from the city, the new and improved safari park promises families the opportunity to see over 3000 animals through interactive experiences and large enclosures.

Ski Dubai Santa at Winter Wonderland

This is arguably the most magical way to get into the festive spirit in Dubai. The sub-zero temperatures at Ski Dubai in the Mall of the Emirates perfectly set the scene for multiple immersive experiences you can enjoy while dressed in your cold-weather gear.

With a Festive Pass, you can enjoy all Snow Park rides, a photo op at Santa’s Grotto and Village, a fun little chairlift ride, and our famous hot cup of cocoa!

Please bear in mind this is not a suitable experience for under 2’s.

Breakfast with Santa is another popular option here. Rather than a personalised session, Santa will work his way around the room, speaking to all families at this seated event. This can be less intimidating (and much warmer) for your littlest ones.

Visit Santa from 1 to 25 December 2026

Early bird tickets are yet to go on sale (last year they were released on 11 November 2024), but get snapped up immediately when they do for the most popular dates immediately before Christmas. Get on their mailing list now to be the first to know when tickets go on sale.

Additionally, Breakfast with Santa will take place at 8:00 am daily (last year from 10 to 25 December and costs AED 160 per person, infants AED 80).

The Grotto

This year, The Grotto is relocating from the Dubai Mall to The Mall of the Emirates for the 2025 season.

Each Grotto booking includes a walk-through Candyland and The Enchanted Forest, before visiting Santa’s Merry Mailroom. Then it’s into the grotto for a full 10 minutes with Santa, so you can expect a fully immersive experience.

Rules are tight, so make sure that you’ve read all of the terms and conditions before you buy your tickets. Whispering Winter Sessions are also on offer for children with Special Educational Needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Children’s tickets are priced at AED 165 each (with a gift), and adults’ tickets are AED 120 (Under 12 months old and carers are free, but no gift). You need at least 1 adult & 1 child, and the maximum group size is 5.

Unfortunately, reviews so far this year have not been fabulous, with the focus very much on the photo, which you are charged extra for, rather than the enitre atmosphere.

Snowbury Square at Times Square

This has always been a brilliant ‘Mall Santa’ experience for little ones, as a visit here isn’t overly complicated. They have a wonderful traditional Santa in his Gingerbread house and reasonable opening hours.

Additional activities at ‘Snowbury Square’ typically include cookie-making workshops, ornament-making, and storytelling sessions. This year, the schedule includes Story time with the Elves (7, 14 & 21 December), Story time with the Snow Queen and friends (4.00 pm-4.30 pm on the 7 and 8, and 12 to 24 December), as well as dance performances and a music recital.

Winter City at Expo City

The magical Winter City at Expo City has been one of the most popular Christmas destinations in recent years. It celebrates all things winter, from cookie baking and gingerbread houses to Christmas Carol nights under the Al Wasl dome.

While the Carols by Candlelight nights are the absolute highlight here (20 to 24 December,6:20 pm and 7:50 pm), Santa and Mrs. Claus are also the stars most families come to see.

CandyTown at Jewel by the Creek

A new addition for 2025, this community event at the sparkling new luxury waterfront venue Jewel of the Creek is shaping up to be a family hit this winter.

There will be carollers, artisan stalls, arts and crafts, stilt walkers and drummers, and most importantly, a Santa’s Grotto.

Winter Wonderland at Al Barari Playground

A relatively new addition, Winter Wonderland at Al Barari Playground offers kids a magical winter set up outdoors in their famously beautiful adventure park. In addition to the park’s standard features, kids can enjoy an ice rink, train ride, and plan a visit to Santa’s Grotto.

Other paid activities are also available, including snowball fights and gingerbread house making.

Winter District

Back for a third season, this massive winter event will return to its original home at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, after relocating to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre for 2024.

Not yet fully launched for the season (as of early October, they’re still at the vendor outreach stage), we expect this event to feature a wide range of food and beverage outlets, artisan market stalls, festive activities, carolers, a kids’ corner, and a Santa’s Grotto.

Santa Dates 2025: 13 to 28 December 2025 (12 pm to 12 am daily).

Tickets are expected to go on sale via Platinumlist. They start at AED 25 or AED 100 for a family of 5, and season passes are AED 175 –TBC 2025

As you might know, family brunch in Dubai is a bit of an institution! Many events are claiming to offer Santa experiences this year, so please bear with us as we compile a more accurate list for 2025.

What is a power bank?

A power bank is a portable, rechargeable battery pack used to charge personal electronic devices, including smartphones, tablets, cameras, and laptops. Although passengers may still carry one power bank onboard, the following restrictions now apply:

• Only one power bank under 100 Watt Hours is permitted per passenger.
• Power banks cannot be used to charge devices during the flight.
• Charging a power bank with the aircraft’s power outlets is not allowed.
• The power bank’s capacity must be clearly labelled and visible.
• Power banks must be stored in a seat pocket or bag under the seat in front, not in overhead lockers.
• Power banks remain prohibited in checked luggage.

Why has Emirates introduced this policy?

Following a detailed safety review, Emirates has tightened its rules on power banks to minimise the risks linked to lithium batteries. The growing popularity of portable chargers has coincided with an increase in incidents related to lithium batteries across the aviation sector.

Lithium-ion and lithium-polymer batteries, commonly found in power banks, can pose hazards if damaged or overcharged. In some cases, this can trigger “thermal runaway,” a chain reaction where heat builds uncontrollably within the cell. This may lead to fires, explosions, or the release of harmful gases.

Unlike smartphones and modern electronics, which often include protective charging mechanisms, many power banks lack these same safeguards. Emirates’ new policy aims to reduce this risk by ensuring devices remain unused and easily accessible in the cabin, where crew are trained to respond quickly in the unlikely event of a fire.

Safety remains central to Emirates’ operations, and this change reflects the airline’s ongoing commitment to protecting passengers, crew, and aircraft at every stage of the journey.

October marks the beginning of a return to milder winter days in Dubai. Outdoor seasonal events and al fresco dining venues around the city begin to emerge from the summer heat, ready for a busy new winter season.

Is October a good time to visit Dubai? Weather in October

The start of the month is still extremely hot in Dubai, and you should expect temperatures in excess of 40°C/104°F. However, by month-end, the humidity starts to drop, and the air temperature cools significantly, giving way to bearable outside heat during the day.

The average daytime high you should expect in October is 35.6°C/96°F.

Average sea temperatures drop to around 31°C/76°F, which is great for swimming, but the ground will still be very hot (i.e., the sand still scorches your feet!!).

• Renowned Lebanese singers Marwan Khoury and Faia Younas will be live at the Dubai Opera on October 1.
• On 3 October, join Mad Mozart live at the Jumeirah Zabeel Theatre, enjoy a fusion of classical and modern arrangements in a unique evening of music that is sure to both surprise and delight.
• On Sunday 5 October, Punjabi music sensation Shubh, will be bringing his ‘The Supreme Tour’ to the Coca-Cola Arena, Dubai. Tickets are likely to sell out quickly, so make sure to book your tickets now!
• Ireland’s comedy queen Joanne McNally will have audiences in stitches at the Dubai Opera on 7 October, as part of the Dubai Comedy Festival, which will have the city giggling away from 2-12 October. • The Champions Series World Title Match will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena on 3 October – brace yourself as undefeated lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov takes on Paul ’Big News’ Hughes, in this nail-biting match.
• Wrestling fans shouldn’t miss WrestleFest DXB at Warehouse Four in Al Quoz – starting 4 October.
• Dubai Basketball will take on Split on 6 October at the Coca-Cola Arena. They will also battle it out with Barcelona on 16 October.
• The IGNITE Pink is Punk breast cancer awareness campaign will return on 11 October with a great sporting day out at the Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort. Other events are scheduled for 18 October at Riva Beach Club, Palm Jumeirah. Activities will include a fun run and best-dressed competition.
• Polo fans can kickstart the season with the Halloween Cup at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort from 26 October until 1 November.
• Keep your eye out for many October-themed events for Diwali, Halloween, and Oktoberfest.
• Something that you shouldn’t miss is Noor: Festival of Lights from 17-19 October, an immersive celebration of Diwali on the banks of Dubai Creek – Al Seef Area.
• Diwali fireworks are scheduled to take place in Al Seef at 9.00 pm on the 17 October, and at 9.00 pm on the 18 and 19 October at Global Village.

Note that many schools in the local area take a mid-term break in mid-October, which can last anywhere from a few days to a full week. It shouldn’t make attractions significantly busier, but you will see more families out and about mid-week. When many European schools take a break at the end of October, crowds in Dubai also tend to increase.

Suggested Dubai Activities in October 2026

As it’s still quite hot outside, we’re all about keeping our cool in October, but we don’t need to be trapped indoors all day. It’s a great time of year to enjoy the beaches and water parks when the air temperatures are not so stifling and the water temperatures are beautifully warm.

• Head to Aquaventure at Atlantis the Palm for a day of splashing good fun at one of the world’s biggest and best water parks.
• If it’s getting too hot outside at the peak of the day, make sure you head into the Lost Chambers aquarium, the largest in the UAE – save by buying a combo ticket!

Top Tip: If you stay at Atlantis the Palm then your hotel stay will include your entry to Aquaventure!

• Explore around Souk Madinat Jumeirah. This modern take on an old souk (market) is always abuzz with activity! It is mostly indoors, so it’s great to tackle when it’s still too hot outside. Enjoy cooling off at the latest instalment, “Theatre of Digital Art“, or take an Abra ride through the canals. This is a great place to stock up on your Dubai souvenirs, albeit pricier than the traditional markets in Deira.

• Ripe Market will make its triumphant outdoor seasonal return at Academy Park on 11 October (running through until May 2026). This is one of winter’s hottest local hangouts, offering fresh food, handicrafts, and family activities.

Day Trips from Dubai in October 2026

The capital city, Abu Dhabi, is Easy to reach by public bus, or by private tour or transfer; here’s what you can expect to find in the neighbouring capital:

• You can see the “Big 3” Cultural sites in Abu Dhabi on a single-day trip tour from Dubai; the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Qasr al Watan, the Presidential Palace.

• The “Big 4” theme parks of Yas Island – namely Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterpark, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and now the brand new SeaWorld Abu Dhabi!

• Catch NBA action in Abu Dhabi from 3 to 6 October. Two matches, the Boston Celtics vs. the Denver Nuggets, are scheduled, plus a fan appreciation day at Etihad Arena and the NBA District at Manarat Al Saadiyat.

Some suggested day tour operators that will help you with transfers to Abu Dhabi:

• Take a trip to the highest point in the UAE! As the daytime temperatures drop away a little, plan an early morning visit to Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK).

• While you’re there, take on the longest zipline in the world! Jebel Jais Flight will see you soaring up to 150km/hr through the Hajar Mountains. There’s also the Jais Sky Tour and the Jais Sky Maze for adrenaline-seekers to try their hand at and make it a full day in the mountains. At the peak, you are approximately 2.5 hours away from Dubai.

• Or, alternatively, a bit of a hidden favourite we love is visiting is Suwaidi Pearl Farm in the tiny northern RAK village of Al Rams. There’s a great guide here to all there is to see and do this winter in RAK.

Dubai With Kids in October 2026

Family activities are back in full swing in Dubai. It is still quite hot for outdoor adventures, but by October, the first thing in the morning and early evening are pleasant enough to be out.

Suggested Dubai Activities in September 2026

You can keep playing tourist around Dubai, even in the hottest months, with many attractions indoors and air-conditioned. It might still be a little uncomfortably hot for the beach or desert, but look out for these attractions.

• Visit the Museum of the Future—it is not just a spectacular building but also offers incredible insight into society’s future. The first two floors can be seen for free, but we highly recommend advance booking your tickets for the complete experience.
• The Dubai Frame – Get a bird’s-eye view of how old meets new in this sensational Dubai attraction. Literally a giant frame, you ascend 48 floors above the city in a glass elevator, then walk the see-through glass floor if you dare! To one side, the old city of Deira and onwards to Sharjah; on the other, superb views of Downtown and the Burj Khalifa.
• Speaking of heights, how would you feel taking a glass slide over Downtown Dubai? Test your nerves at Sky View Observatory.
• On a luxury yacht, cruise with airconditioned comfort around the Dubai Marina at night.

Dubai Weather in August

In the hottest month of the year, daily maximums in Dubai can reach 48.8°C (120°F), averaging around 41.5°C (106.7°F). Overnight, temperatures only drop to an average low of 30.6°C (87°F), so there cn be limited relief from the heat, even at night.

Humidity starts to pick up in August, making it feel even hotter and muggier than in July (NB, look for the “feels like” temperature in your weather app to gauge how hot it is outside better).

Sea temperatures are not particularly refreshing in August either, at a balmy 33.1°C (91.6°F); even temperatures over 34°c in the water can be experienced in Dubai in August.

August is a quiet month for special events in Dubai. Suggested Dubai Activities in August 2026

We’re keeping it all indoors still in August, with some favourite suggestions to try in the city:

• Catch La Perle by Dragon – the stunning stage show at Al Habtoor. It runs throughout the year, but August is the perfect time to catch the show in air-conditioned comfort and with special offers such as kids go free. Stick around for dinner and drinks in Al Habtoor City.

• Get out on the water in air-conditioned style, enjoy a night cruise with dinner from Dubai Marina, or even catch the Dubai Ferry for a spectacular view of many of the city’s highlights in air-conditioned comfort.

• Ski Dubai – hit the slopes indoors at the Mall of the Emirates, keeping you active during the hottest months.

• Visit AYA – Immersive Experience – at Wafi Mall; this cutting-edge VR tech experience is a truly incredible (and airconditioned!) way to stay in touch with nature in a futuristic manner.

• Try afternoon tea at the famous Burj al Arab – it may be too hot for the stunning infinity pool, but pull up a chair inside for a special treat on the 27th floor of Dubai’s “7-star” luxury jewel.

If you’d still like to enjoy the heat and get out in the sun, we suggest cooling off at one of the city’s many beach clubs. Head out in the late afternoon and stay hydrated to make the most of Dubai’s beaches in summer – or seek out some of the newer night beaches in Jumeirah.

With the Kids – August in Dubai 2026

There’s still plenty going on indoors for the little ones in August. Why not try:

• Motiongate Dubai, part of the Dubai Parks and Resorts complex, offers most of its family-friendly rides and attractions indoors + complimentary daytime shuttles from the car park, making it bearable still in the summer months.

• Oli Oli – the indoor children’s museum has plenty to keep the younger kids active in a wonderfully chilled and safe environment, Toshi’s net is a real hit.

• Dubai Mall is home to many family attractions indoors, from KidZania to the VR Park, even ice skating! Or try the new Dubai Hills Mall, which is home to a brand new Adventure Park and an indoor roller coaster, The Storm Coaster!

• Take a walk in a tropical rainforest in the centre of Dubai! The Green Planet biodome brings an incredible nature experience to the heart of the city.

Dubai Weather in July

How hot is Dubai in July? You are reaching peak summer temperatures, so let’s look at the weather in Dubai in July in detail.

• The average temperature for July in Dubai is 41.3°C (106.3°F). However, the Dubai temperature in July can reach a daytime high of 48.5°C (119.3°F) – the “feels like” temperature often significantly exceeds this.

• Overnight, the July temperature in Dubai only dips as far as 30.4°C (86.7°F); you get some reprieve from the sun, but it still feels sweltering even after dark.

• Swimming in the sea offers little reprieve from the outside air temperature in Dubai in July, as water temperatures rise to highs of 34.7°C (94.4°F).

The good news is that you will find little, if any, rain in Dubai in July. The bad news: expect to spend most of your days inside. Things do perk up in the evenings, but anything outdoors is still likely to bring on an immediate sweat.

There is little temperature difference between the start and end of July, but the humidity does rise over the month, making the “feels like” temperature much greater than the air temperature.

You are certainly not choosing Dubai in July for its weather, but there are plenty of ways the city can still be enjoyed in summer.

Although large events tend to be scaled back in Dubai during the hottest summer months, the city still does its best to allure visitors to town with some tantalising indoor ideas to keep things interesting. Here are some interesting things to do in Dubai in July indoors:

• Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) – From 27th June until 31st of August, enjoy unbeatable sales, special offers, and prize draws citywide.
• In addition to DSS, check out some dining deals with Summer Restaurant Week from 4 to 13 July 2025 at various locations across the city.
• Beat the Heat DXB Season 4 will be setting the groove at Dubai World Trade Centre for a series of summer evening music festivals from 4 to 13 July 2025.
• There are several indoor summer fun runs scheduled across the city, including RX Summer Run at City Center Mirdif on 6 July, Summer Mall Run at Ibn Battuta on 13 July, and Dubai Hills Indoor Run on 20 July.

Suggested Things to Do in Dubai in July 2026

Time to test some of Dubai’s biggest and best indoor attractions that will keep you active in the summer. Why not try:

• Indoor skiing at Ski Dubai – hit the slopes with your skis or snowboards and try out the 400m entirely indoor slope at Mall of the Emirates.

• Take an underwater journey through Deep Dive Dubai, the deepest indoor swimming pool in the world.

• Explore the Museum of the Future and get a glimpse of what life might be like 50 years from now in this wonderfully interactive and thought-provoking museum. (Free entry is available to the first two floors if you haven’t pre-booked tickets.)

Dubai Weather in June

The temperature in Dubai moves from hot to even hotter with an average daily maximum of 39.8°C (103.6°F).

Still, it’s not unusual to experience significantly hotter days up to 47.9°C (118.2°F), as well as days with higher than normal humidity. Temperatures drop to an average of 27.7°C (81.9°F) overnight.

Sea temperatures also rise from 30.4°C (87.8°F) up to 33°C (90.4°F) – you won’t get much reprieve from jumping in the sea but most hotel resorts should have chillers on their pools to keep the water refreshing.

Is June too hot in Dubai?

This is really a matter of personal preference and what you have planned for Dubai.

For the most part, it’s too hot to be out and about at the beach or tackling the desert in June during the peak of the day, but not impossible.

If you don’t mind sweating a little, evenings out are still manageable, albeit many restaurants close their outdoor terraces in the hottest months of the year, and many seasonal events have closed.

What you will find is that you can pick up a bargain on your accommodation from June through to August.

Hotels still look to fill their rooms in the off-peak season, and you’ll certainly avoid the peak Dubai crowds in June.

Waterparks and water-based attractions still remain quite busy in June too, though as water temperatures rise over the month even these outdoor activities can become unbearable for some.

As most activities have now moved indoors, there has been a slowdown in large festivals and events over the hottest summer months. Live Music, theatre and comedy

• Kick off the month with the Sharmila Dance Extravaganza at the Zabeel Theatre on June 1st, showcasing a variety of dance and creativity in this stunning performance.
• Experience a world of wonder at Zabeel Theatre on the 7th, 8th and 9th June, with an enchanting family journey to grant the ‘The Greatest Wish’ not by rubbing a magic lamp but by looking within our own hearts.
• Take a trip under the sea at the Raj Mahal Theatre (Dubai Parks and Resorts) on 14th June as The Little Mermaid dances her way onto the stage in this inspired adaption of the Disney classic by Turning Pointe Youth Ballet.
• For something a little different book tickets for Circus 1903 at the Coca Cola Arena on 20th, 21st and 22nd June – a spectacular show feature stunning puppetry, daring acts and so much more!
• The 24th June sees the Grammy, Emmy and Academy Award winning Mary J Blige perform live at the Coca-Cola Arena.
• Rumour has it that there’s a cracking Adele tribute act aboard the QE2 this Summer! You can catch Helen Ward-Jackson on the 27th and 28th June only on the QE2. Tickets are available here.
• Asian superstar Adnan Sami will be serenading the crowd at the Coca-Cola Arena on June 29th.
• The King of romance Wael Kfoury will be live on stage at Dubai Opera on June 22nd with one unforgettable night of legendary hits.

Sporting Events in June

1. The 971 Fighting Championship will hit the ring at the Coca-Cola Arena on the 14th June with fights between Muhammed ‘The Punisher’ Mokaev and Alisher Gabdullin, as well as Mousah and Junior and Gallagher and Soares.
2. The UAE Netball Cup will be held at the Al Nasr Club at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamadan Hall between June 15th and June 21st. For more details click here.

Places to Visit in Dubai in June 2026

You will want to explore some of the city’s best indoor attractions in June. Basing yourself around Dubai Mall and Downtown Dubai is a great idea at this stage of the year to minimise walking. The best things to do in Dubai in June include:

• A visit to the city’s beautiful Museum of the Future is an otherworldly experience sure to wow (NB advance booking is essential).

• A trip to At The Top Burj Khalifa – the highest observation deck in the world is a total bucket list experience not to miss, mostly indoors (Even in off-peak times, it’s still best to book your Burj Khalifa tickets well in advance, especially if you want the coveted sunset spots).

• Visit the largest suspended indoor aquarium tank in the world The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo. It is totally free to observe the free tank inside the Mall, but a visit inside and the up-close encounters cost extra. For a big day out, it’s easy to combine your ticket to At The Top with the aquarium.

• For an icy cold treat, try your hand (or your feet!) at the Olympic-sized ice skating rink in Dubai Mall.

• Take on the slopes of Ski Dubai in Mall of the Emirates, or enjoy a snow park pass to enjoy Bobsledding, Zorb balling, and more!

• Once the sun goes down, venture out to the Dubai Mall promenade to capture the evening Dubai Fountain show – the world’s largest dancing fountain show on the Burj Lake. Taking a traditional abra out onto the water at night is one of the most popular central city activities in June.

• Another great nightspot to enjoy the nightly fountain show is Time Out Market, found in neighbouring Souk al Bahar. Terrace views are possible here, and there is a superb dining hall atmosphere.

Dubai specializes in indoor kids’ entertainment; in fact, there are probably no more indoor activities and fun centres in the world!

• Kidzania Dubai – the life-like city built just for kids where they can take on jobs, earn money from flying a FlyDubai plane through to working at the bank and enjoy lunch from their own creations at Pizza Express! Found within Dubai Mall.

• Play DXB (formerly VR Park) offers a huge indoor virtual reality park to explore within Dubai Mall.

• Explore the entirely indoor rainforest biodome, The Green Planet – featuring rescued exotic wildlife through to animal encounters and “Zoo Keeper for a Day” opportunities. They’ve even brought back their ‘Camping in the Rainforest’ experience (weekends only) for a truly unique way to experience the indoor jungle!

• Head to Dubai Hills Mall, where you will find the giant Adventure Park. Here, you will find all things adventure! From climbing walls to rope courses and even an indoor rollercoaster (yes, inside the shopping mall!) The Storm Coaster.

• For the creative types, book yourselves a session at Wild Paint Hosue to unleash that inner artist, and some energy!

Dubai Special Events March 2026

Gone are the days when the city grinds to a halt during Ramadan; you will now find a modest lineup of events occurring throughout March, though many events will move to the evening once the Holy Month has commenced.

• Ramadan will likely begin on the 17th February (depending on the sighting of the moon). Very little live entertainment is usually scheduled for this period. It is courteous for visitors to respect the holy month and refrain from making too much noise during daylight hours. It is also respectful to dress (more) modestly during Ramadan and to refrain from eating and drinking in public before sunset unless you’re in place where it is expressly allowed. • Ramadan is a very special time to visit the UAE. Whilst the days may be quieter, the evenings are truly magical with lantern-lit iftars (meals to break the fast) in a range of beautiful locations. Many hotels and restaurants offer elaborate buffets or set menus for iftar, which visitors are more than welcome to attend. Find out more about Iftar in Dubai here.
• As well as iftars, you’ll find a range of family and kids activities occurring all over the city when the sun sets. A venue that you really shouldn’t miss, is Dubai Expo City, which will be transformed into a traditional Emirati neighborhood with a bustling souk, traditional activities, live entertainment, and so much more.
• There will be numerous firework displays around the city on Saturday nights throughout Ramadan you can find some of the best at Dubai Festival City, Al Seef, Bluewaters, and The Beach, JBR. Each show usually starts at 10.00pm and is free to attend.
• In addition to the iftars in fancy hotels and restaurants, you can also go on a culinary adventure at the Ramadan Street Food Festival at Sheikh Hamdan Colony, Karama. Here, you will find a variety of delicious dishes from around the world. You can also catch live performances on stage and join in with arts and craft activities and fun and games in the various installations around the site.
• Eid-Al-Fitr, the much anticipated celebration the mark the end of Ramadan is likely to fall on March 19 2026 (subject to the moon sighting) and will bring with it fireworks and festivities across the city.
• The Hindu festival of Holi falls on March 4 2026. Whilst this festival is observed by many people in Dubai, public celebrations will likely be delayed until after Eid.
• For a touch of Arabian magic head to Dubai Opera on the 5th March for ‘Echoes of Time’ – the work of Ibn Arabi performed try the UAE National Orchestra.
• For something a little different, join the Megacampus Summit at the Coca-Cola Arena from 6th-7th March. The event features lectures from academy award winning director James Cameron, Magnus Carlsen – the greatest chess player of all time, and Robert Greene, bestselling author of the 48 Laws of Power.
• Alternatively on the 6th and 7th March, enjoy some irreverent comedy with Father Ted – a live theatrical performance aboard the QE2.
• Comedian Mo Gilligan will be bringing ‘The Mo you know’ to Dubai Opera on 18th March 2026 in a high energy performance.
• Wu-Tang Clan will bring nostalgic hip-hop vibes to the Coca-Cola Arena with Wu-Tang forever on the 22 March 2026.
• There will be more comedy at Dubai Opera on the 22nd and 23rd March with Max Amini sharing his razor-sharp observations and humorous cultural storytelling skills.
• Experience the magic of pianist Yuja Wang at the Dubai Opera on 26th March.
• Internationally renowned singer-songwriter Josh Groban will share his captivating voice with audiences at the Coca-Cola Arena on 27th March. Having sold more than 35 million albums worldwide, this is a performance not to be missed!
• Italian composer Andrea Vanzo will share his modern-classical melodies at the New Covent Garden Theatre, Mall of the Emirates on 27th March.
• Dubai World Cup – Horse racing is held weekly at Meydan Racecourse throughout the winter but the star of the show is the World Cup which will be held on the 28th March 2026.
• Also on March 28th head to the Coca-Cola Arena for an evening of nostalgia with pop icons A1 and Music Travel Love.
• Why not end the month at Dubai Opera with a tribute to legendary British band Queen. God Save the Queen will be belting out hit after hit in this musical extravaganza – 30th March.

March is starting to warm up, but still mild enough to be out and about in the UAE. Let’s make the most of the outdoor weather with these suggested things to do in Dubai in March:

• AquaFun on The Beach, JBR – test your agility and fitness in this giant outdoor playground off the shore of one of Dubai’s most popular beaches, The Beach.
• Explore the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve – rent a bike for one of the most unique desert riding experiences, or a local favourite is the walking track around the incredible Love Lakes for wildlife spotting and sensational sunsets.

• The Holy Month of Ramadan will commence on or about 1 March 2025 and lasts approximately 29-30 days.
• Non-Muslims should be aware of daylight fasting during Ramadan, and some places will curtail their entertainment program but why not locally join in with an Iftar for breaking of the fast or overnight Suhoor to mark the occasion? Ramadan markets are also another great experience that have popped up in recent years.
• Dubai Challenge Cup (Polo) will take place 2025 dates TBC – Al Habtoor Polo
• Holi Festivities for the Hindu community occur during the month with the key date of 13 March 2025 (festivities may be held before/after Ramadan instead).
• Expect St Patrick’s Day celebrations to be widely marked at Irish pubs across the city after dark on 17 March 2025 – various venues
• Mother’s Day occurs on 21 March annually, UK Mother’s Day is 30 March 2025 – expect special family dining offers for the occasion

Background & Facts about Ain Dubai

Ain Dubai – or as it was referred to in the early stages of development, Dubai Eye – stands a staggering 250 metres high on the man-made development of Bluewaters Island – snuggly in between the Palm Jumeirah and popular tourist hotspot JBR.

Initially due to open in line with Expo 2020 in Dubai, unsurprisingly with COVID, the opening was pushed back a year in line with the revised Expo 2020 timings to October 2021.

It stayed open for just 6 months when bookings were abruptly halted in March 2022 for ‘enhancement’ works that were expected to last a month or two but took nearly 3 years.

Rolling the clock forward to late December 2024, here’s what you need to know about Ain Dubai, the largest observation wheel in the world!!

• The Ain Dubai project was announced in 2013, and construction commenced in 2015.
• Hyundai Engineering & Construction and Starneth Engineering are the primary design and construction contractors.
• The project for the wheel itself has an estimated cost of AED 1 billion ($270m).
• The wheel already stands at a staggering 250 metres tall.
• Upon its opening in October 2021, Ain Dubai became the tallest observation wheel in the world, surpassing the previous record holder, the 167.6m (550ft) High Roller in Las Vegas, by 42.5m (139ft).
• The wheel has 48 capsules and a total capacity of 1,900 passengers.
• One ride around the wheel will take 38 minutes.
• 9,000 tonnes of steel were used in the wheel’s construction.
• Each spoke cable that holds the wheel in place weighs 5 tonnes and is the length of one football pitch!
• 2,400 kilometres of cable wires are housed inside the spoke cables.
• A multi-purpose tourist attraction, one of the wheel legs will also host the highest climbing platform in the world.

As advertised on their relaunched Website, Ain Dubai will be open 6 days a week (closed Mondays)

• Tuesday to Friday 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm
• Saturday & Sunday 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday
• Ticket holders will be asked to arrive 60 minutes before their booked time to prepare for boarding

What else is there to do in Bluewaters Island

Designed as a luxury urban retreat, you will find at the heart of Bluewaters a trendy dining and retail district marked by distinctive canopy structures that look particularly sensational when lit up at night.

With 132 leisure and retail units, many great restaurants have come and gone in the time it’s taken for Ain Dubai to reopen, but we expect the area to be flourishing again with the reopening of this key landmark attraction in Dubai.

The Ain Dubai Plaza has been launched, including evening DJs, hip-hop street battles and a ‘Light of Dubai’ Show at 7:30 PM and 9:30 PM.

How to Get to Ain Dubai

Ain Dubai is accessible via car, metro, foot and even by water!

Ain Dubai by foot

You can get to Bluewaters easily on foot from Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) – The Beach over a pedestrian footbridge known as The Wharf Link that connects the two beachside entertainment zones of the city.

Ain Dubai by Dubai Metro

The closest Metro station is DMCC, but it’s a long walk. It is better to alight at Jabal Ali Metro Station and take the F57 bus to Bluewaters Island.

Ain Dubai by water taxi

If you alight Red Line Metro at DMCC Station, you can catch a water taxi from Dubai Marina Mall Marine Transport Station (approximately a 15-minute walk). From there, take the BM3 water taxi to Bluewaters Marine Transport Station.

Water taxis operate between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm daily. See the RTA schedule, or arrange a private charter calling

Ain Dubai by car

There are over 2000 parking bays on-site, making it easy to self-drive. Alternatively, catch a taxi or ride-sharing service to the door. You need Exit 29 from Sheikh Zayed Road.
