Exciting Expansion of Atlantis Aquaventure Water Park – Atlantis New Ride Guide

All new thrills and water adventures at Atlantis Aquaventure in 2021

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Atlantis Aquaventure on Palm Jumeirah has expanded this spring to include 28 new waterslides and attractions. The expansion, which opened on 1 March 2021 has increased the overall size of Aquaventure by a third to now bring guests 105 activities to enjoy on this 22-hectare site.

The spectacular new water park attractions that now await are the incredible Trident Tower and Splashers. If you’ve not visited in a few years or you’re a newcomer to Dubai, here’s exactly what you can expect with a detailed new ride guide for Atlantis Aquaventure!

NB – 2021 is a transformative year for Atlantis. Whilst the new rides have opened in March, other parts of the park have shut for renovations including Tower of Neptune, Splashers Mountain, Splashers Island, Torrent Beach and The River Rapids. We’ll update you when the full park has reopened.

New attraction at Atlantis Aquaventure – Trident Tower

At 48-metres high, Trident Tower is now the highest tower at Aquaventure, featuring 12 record-breaking waterslides and attractions set out over five floors.

Some of the incredible new features include the longest family water coaster in the world, the tallest vertical drop slide in the Middle East and the region’s first cliff jumping experience.

Here’s exactly what you can expect at each new ride:

Odyssey of Terror 

Riders accelerate and gain speed and momentum as they sweep up and across the apex of the wave where they momentarily experience near weightlessness before freefalling down the other side of the curved wall.

Shockwave

This unique water ride is a combination of speed, power, and rafting adventure all in one. Families of up to six blast forward 449 metres for over one-minute through a series of tunnels, at the speed of a giant slalom ski course. Riders drop and dive as they race along the outer wall of the curve anticipating the next change in direction as they look down the fall-line.

Medusa’s Lair

An intricate web of twists and turns, just like Medusas’ snaky hair. Riders are blasted through a series of dark caves, steep slopes and drops as they race one another to the end.

Blackout

Billed as the scarier sister to Leap of Faith, daring riders plummet down an almost-vertical drop that delivers extreme thrills and high velocities from beginning to end.

Hydra Racers

Four racers at a time can challenge one another to be the first to the bottom to win the “trident”

Immortal Falls

Experience Dubai’s first thrill-seeking, gravity-defying cliff jumps – leaping down the Immortal Falls for those that dare to dive.

Raging Rapids

Guests can experience what it feels like to be raging through a number of roaring water elements, from powerful waves, high-pressure bubbles and currents to tempt the most daring youngsters and adults alike.

New attraction at Atlantis Aquaventure – Splashers

Splashers is the exclusive family section of Aquaventure featuring kids-only rides and slides to give younger visitors a dedicated space to enjoy water-filled thrilled and spills in a safe environment.

Joining Splashers’ Island, the new openings at Splashers’ Lagoon and Splashers’ Cove features 16 rides and attractions, many based on the park’s larger rides but exclusively for little ones.

Record-breaking slides include:

  • Riptide: The Middle East’s first six-lane  KIDZ ProRACER®
  • Comet Racers: The world’s first KIDZ RallyRACER®
  • Swirl: The first  KIDZ TORNADO 24® slide in the Middle East (twice the size of Aquaventure’s existing KIDZ TORNADO® 12 at Splasher’s Island)

Old favourites at Aquaventure

The newcomers join an already impressive line up of water park rides including Aquaconda, the World’s largest tube water slide, Poseidon’s Revenge terrifying sheer drop ride with an inverted loop and Slitherine twin loop racers.

Please note some of Aquaventures original rides are part of the next phase of enhancements and may be closed during your visit in 2021


More about Atlantis the Palm

Originally opened as the crowning jewel of the Palm Jumeirah in 2008, the ocean-themed resort is one of Dubai’s most iconic family hotels. As well as Aquaventure theme park, the hotel includes the Lost Chambers Aquarium, Dolphin Bay conservation and education habitat and Sea Lion Point – not to mention a plethora of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

The expansion has also included an extension to the beach area at Aquaventure so guests can now relax on a 1km stretch of pristine beach frontage overlooking the Palm Jumeirah.

Undoubtedly Atlantis is still staking its claim as one of the best stand-alone family holiday destinations in the Middle East.
