Dubai is never short of a spectacular Guinness World Record.
We thought it would be hard to beat the spectacular fountain light and sound show display held on the Burj Lake every night, at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, but there’s a new kid on the block ready to take away their title!
Formally launched on 22 October 2020, nightlife and entertainment district, The Pointe, which sits at the end of the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, immediately opposite Atlantis the Palm resort is bringing us The Palm Fountain.
What to expect at The Palm Fountain
Set out over 14,000 square feet, the Palm Fountain will launch from 22 October 2020 with nightly shows due to be held between 7:00 pm and midnight.
The shows will involve 3000 LED lights and a super shooter fountain which will reach a staggering 105 metres. The fountains have 20 bespoke shows with five different shows running nightly, set to a variety of music from Kahleeji pop to classic and international hits.
Each Palm Fountain show will last for 3 minutes, every 30 minutes.
Launched by Nakhell Malls, Managing Director Omar Khoory says “the launch of The Palm Fountain is a testament to our commitment to support retailers and push boundaries to provide our customers with new experiences”.
It is certainly set to become a spectacle every visitor to Dubai should add to their bucket list of unique Dubai experiences.
*The record for the largest fountain show in the world was formally set on 22 October 2020, verified by Guinness World Records as 7,327 m² (78,867 ft² 25 in²).
What else is there to see and do at The Pointe
The Pointe, one of Dubai’s premier dining and leisure destinations opened in 2018. There are over 30 different restaurants situated along a 1.5-kilometre promenade, divided into East and West Promenade. While restaurants will provide the perfect seating for the colourful new fountain show, there’s plenty more to see and do inside The Pointe too.
Families will love the flagship branch of Cheeky Monkeys play centre, and the Guy Fieri Dine-in Reel Cinema is a hit for all. A co-op supermarket, gym and fitness centre along with beauty salons and gift stores, it is certainly shaping up to be one of Dubai’s premier tourist locations.
Fountain views from Atlantis, The Palm
Situated in the Gulf waters that lie between Atlantis the Palm and The Pointe, guests staying in a Palm view room will also be treated to spectacular front row seats to the colourful nightly show.
