A Note on Behaviour at Global Village
Given the international nature of Global Village, there are a few rules that visitors to the UAE, in particular, should be aware of. They are rules, as these are more closely enforced than in other parts of the city:
- Guests are asked to dress modestlyโleave your short-shorts and busty tops for the beach. If in doubt, go back and read our Dubai dress code advice about the right time and place for certain outfits in the UAE.
- Avoid public displays of affectionโholding hands is no issue, and cuddling the kids is fine, but it’s not the place to get smoochy with your partner.
- Do not bring in items such as scooters, Segways, skateboards, etc. – you’ll see why when you see the crowds.
- Do not be caught filming without a permitโa quick video on your smartphone is fine, but if you are using any equipment to make YouTube videos, etc., please seek the appropriate media permission.
